Yard Sale

I come from a family with roots in the antique business. When my grandparents sold their store they started doing yard sales. In fact my grandmother became highly popular in the region of North York (North Toronto). Most people don't now this but yard sales are HIGHLY ILLEGAL. No, its not against the law to have a yard sale, but after two a year your crossing the line of operating a business in a residential zone. That's exactly what my grandparents did. They found loop holes and dodged municipal law for the last 20 years until calling it quits in 2005. They packed up and moved to Newfoundland (my grandmothers birth province) to enjoy retirement and party it up joining a seniors club.

This past weekend, in an attempt to get rid of some old things that had been piling up at my uncles, they came out of retirement to put on a show to which the likes of North York had never seen. Upon arrival the familiar scenario released a floodgate of memories of my family in their golden years.
